As we approach 2022 I want to gift you a coaching question to ponder on. Happiness is not based on setting ourselves one goal after another but taking action to achieve our dreams does give us the momentum to keep raising the bar. I am a runner and when I am running either pounding the streets or running on the journey of life, I am competing against best self.
So, given that we cannot control everything that happens in our life but we do have an element of control in terms of how we manage our time what if you have something that you really really want to see change and you know the only thing you need to make that happen is you, how would that feel to achieve your desire ? Something that you deeply wish to see and has been on your mind, but for one reason or other is being put on the back burner?
What’s the one thing you would like to give yourself and is within your power to achieve, if you plan and set your mind to achieving it?
Try to keep this simple, just one thing or habit that you feel you would like to have such as brushing your teeth twice a day or walking 30 minutes a day to feel healthier. Set a time limit to execute this desire such as 21 days that will help you get into the rhythm. Share your wish with someone you trust so there is accountability and a reason to stay on track. Write 5 reasons why you want to do what you want to do on 5 post it notes and stick them on your bathroom mirror and kitchen cabinet or dressing table mirror.
That’s it, feel free to disregard this or implement this, it is your choice. Just to share my January gift to myself is to abstain from biscuits, crisps and chocolates for 21 days starting tomorrow:)
